Weenja was established with the mission to provide a comprehensive dual-platform that serves as an online marketplace for buying and selling, as well as a platform for freelance services.
Our vision is to leverage the power of digital technology to address the issue of unemployment in Uganda by creating opportunities for individuals to access freelance work.

Uganda presents a growing and dynamic market for Weenja’s dual-platform for online marketplace and freelance services. The country has a population of over 45 million. According to a report by the Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) in 2020, Approximately 23 million were using smartphones. Uganda has a fast-growing middle class, with increasing purchasing power and demand for online shopping and services.
Weenja’s freelance services platform is benefiting the informal sector by creating opportunities for individuals with specialised skills, such as agricultural advisors, machine operators, and skilled artisans, to offer their services on a freelance basis. This is bridging the gap between demand for services and the availability of skilled workers in the informal sector, promoting economic inclusion and reducing unemployment.
Weenja is dedicated to making a positive social impact by addressing the issue of unemployment in Uganda, contributing to economic growth and empowering individuals to improve their livelihoods.
